NFL Films, which celebrated founder Ed Sabol’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this year, will introduce another anthology series that showcases Films’ unique access and view of pro football with NFL Turning Point, which will air on Versus (to be re-named NBC Sports Network on January 2, 2012).
NFL Turning Point will be a one-hour program on Thursdays starting September 15. The show will air at 10 pm ET until November 10, when it will move to midnight ET due to Thursday Night Football airing on NFL Network.
The show will be an in-depth look at two games each week using NFL Films’ behind-the-scenes access . According to the NFL’s press release, the crucial moment in each game — the turning point — will be examined closely and from all angles using NFL Films’ unmatched cinematography, sideline and on-field audio as well as postgame access to players and coaches.
“Showcasing the sounds and images of the game, from the smallest detail to the big picture has been our strength for nearly 50 years,” said NFL Films President Steve Sabol in the press release.
NFL Turning Point will often include games featuring teams that are playing against each other the upcoming week on NBC’s Sunday Night Football as a promotion for Versus’ corporate parent, NBC.
