NFL moves Dallas-New York Giants to Week 17 Sunday night

With several games in Week 17 impacting either playoff qualification or seeding, the NFL announced that the Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants next Sunday night will move to Sunday Night Football at 8:20 pm ET on NBC.

The Cowboys-Giants game, which will decide the winner of the NFC East, was originally scheduled for 1 pm ET on FOX. Flexible scheduling allows a six-day window for selections in Week 17.

As part of flexible scheduling, three other game times will move: Baltimore-Cincinnati will move from 1 pm ET to 4:15 pm on CBS, Pittsburgh-Cleveland will move from 1 pm ET to 4:15 PM ET on CBS and Tampa Bay-Atlanta will move from 1 pm ET to 4:15 PM ET on FOX.

The Ravens and Steelers, both already in the AFC field, are fighting for the AFC North title and a first-round bye. The Bengals are still trying to qualify as an AFC Wild Card team. The Falcons, depending on how Monday night’s game at New Orleans turns out, could still be fighting for the NFC South title or a Wild Card berth.

Two other games could move depending on results of games on Sunday and Monday: Game times for Chicago-Minnesota and Carolina-New Orleans, both originally on FOX at 1 pm ET, will be announced after the completion of Week 16.

The Bears have an outside shot of an NFC Wild Card berth, while the Saints are still in the hunt for a first-round bye as well as the NFC South title, depending on Monday night’s result vs. Atlanta.
